What do you charge per hour?
Your hourly rate sits underneath every quote. Not sure what yours should be? Answer a few questions and we'll work it out.
What you'd like to take home each month.
Software, internet, devices, studio space, subscriptions.
20 to 30% is common. A local accountant can tell you more.
Time spent drawing for clients. 15 to 25 is realistic; the rest goes to admin and rest.
Holidays, sick days and quiet periods.
Tell us about the project
Start with what the client wants drawn. The time estimate is the biggest part of the price, so adjust it to your own speed.
How will the client use it?
You're selling the artwork and permission to use it. The wider the use, the more value the client gets, so the price rises with it.
A full buyout already covers every use, forever, so no time limit applies.
Why charge for usage rights?
A poster used on one blog and the same poster on a national ad campaign are worth very different amounts to the client. Usage fees let you earn more when your work earns more for them, instead of charging only for the hours you spent. The percentages are a starting point; change them under Pricing rules.
Deadlines, changes and extras
These are where jobs quietly lose money. Set the rules now and the quote will cover them.
Tick what the client wants. Rename, reprice or add your own.
Stock images, fonts, printing, shipping. Anything you pay for the job.
Choose your price and finish
Pick how bold to be. The totals show what each option would add up to for this exact project.
A floor so tiny jobs still cover your setup time.
For repeat clients or bundles.
Leave at 0 if you don't charge it.
30 to 50% upfront protects you.
Copy this into an email or invoice. It updates with every change.
Create your invoice
The invoice uses the price from your quote. Your own details are remembered on this device, so next time you only change the client and the number.
